Memorial Day Ceremony
This year’s Memorial Day Ceremonies will begin with a special Call to Order at the First Burial Ground on Park Street at 8 a.m. and a re-dedication ceremony at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017. The special ceremony in honor of the City’s 375th anniversary includes the unveiling of a new memorial stone and new decorative fencing. Mayor Scott D. Galvin, the Woburn Cemetery Commission and Woburn Historical Society will lead the re-dedication. To be followed immediately by a march to Woburn Common for annual Memorial Day Ceremonies. Woburn’s First Burial Ground the City’s first and oldest cemetery, and holds a place on the National Historic Register.
